It is my joy to serve as Pastor Of Senior Ministries at South Henderson Church.
I have the privilege of leading a Wednesday Morning Service which starts at 10 AM. The service features Praise and Worship, Strong Prayer Emphasis, and The Old-Time Preaching Of God's Word. Although, some of the latest Praise choruses are sung, we enjoy bringing back the traditional hymns and keeping the Old-Time Religion alive. We also have a Free lunch afterwords; and, yes, we even receive a free will offering. Of course, the service is designed for everyone; but, special emphasis is given to seniors and the disabled who are unable to get out at night or to attend evening functions. Because the service is at 10 in the morning, this also provides an opportunity for those in the community who may have other church obligations at the standard service times to be able to come in and join our fellowship as well. This, indeed, has proven fruitful. The Lord continues to bless us as we enjoy His presence. The ministry and fellowship continue to grow and we Praise Godfor that! I am truly humbled and thrilled to have been chosen by BrittHaven Nursing Home of Henderson, North Carolina to be the recipient of their 2007 Volunteer Of The Year Award. I give God the praise for this and any other jesture of kindness which has been extended to me. May God continue to bless the staff and the residents of all of the Nursing and Retirement Homes; as well as, those of you who are sick or disabled in the hospital or your home!
Here is the current nursing home ministry schedule:
- BrittHaven Nursing Home, at 1245 Park Avenue in Henderson, NC, beginning at 10:30 AM on the second Monday of the month.
- Senior Citizens Nursing Home on Ruin Creek Road, Henderson, NC on the second Tuesday of the month, beginning at 10:30 AM.
- Oxford Manner Nursing Home, now Universal HealthCare, on Prospect Avenue in Oxford, NC, on the second Friday of the month beginning at 10 AM.
- Court Yard Apartments #2 on South Cooper Drive in Henderson, NC on the fourth Tuesday of the month, beginning at 7 PM; this group supports our Wednesday morning and other nursing home services.
