I WANT MY FATHER TO BE PROUD OF ME!
Introduction: Proverbs 10:1 says that a wise son maketh a glad father. Jesus said in John 8:29, I do always those things which please the Father. Hebrews 11:6 says, But without faith it is impossible to please him.
Only two things are necessary to please the Father and live out this faith which we profess, according to our Lord's word in John 4:34:
Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to Do The Will Of Him That Sent Me, and To Finish His Work.
God's will is that we are:
- Saved, Second Peter 3:9; not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.
- Sanctified, First Thessalonians 4:3; this is the will of God even your sanctification.
- Spirit filled, Ephesians 5:18; be not drunk with wine wherein is excess but be filled with the Spirit.
Conclusion: God's work is that which He gives us to do while we're here on this earth.
Ephesians 6:8, Knowing that whatsoever good thing any man doeth, the same shall he receive of the Lord whether he be bond or free.
