Jesus Christ And Him Crucified!
Introduction: The message of the crucified, risen Lord was the central theme of the apostles and the early church.
First Corinthians chapter 2 verses 1 through 5:
And I, brithren, when I came to you, came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of god. For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified. And I was with you in weakness, and in fear, and in much trembling. And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power: that your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of god.
- People are not saved by being convinced with eloquence or human wisdom.
- Priority should be focused on the message of the cross as the basis for our redemption.
- Present circumstance or human weakness does not take away from the preaching of the gospel nor from the demonstration of the Spirit and power of god!
Conclusion: By zeroing in on the importance of the message of Christ, we can be assured of having great results and of being in God's will.
